The information described in this document is designed to provide guidance for maintaining Securitas Healthcare Tags, provide an effective means for cleaning and disinfection and promote trouble-free operation. Follow hospital protocol for establishing Tag cleaning schedules.
Tags used for patients should be cleaned after each use. For cleaning products not listed below, please contact Securitas Healthcare technical support prior to use.

The disinfecting properties of cleaning solutions vary. Consult the manufacturer for specific information.
Do not immerse Tags in liquids. Immersion could damage the Tag.
Do not allow liquids to enter the Tag’s electronics compartment, for example in ultrasound or humidity Tags.
Do not sterilize Tags using heat, steam, ethylene oxide (ETO), or radiation. These methods may cause Tags to malfunction.
Certain cleaning and sanitizing compounds may slowly degrade components made from some plastic materials.
Using abrasive cleaners or cleaning solutions not recommended by Securitas Healthcare may result in product damage and potentially void the product warranty.
Never use sharp objects such as fingernails, paper clips or needles to clean Tag parts.
Do not use the non-approved cleaning products to clean Tags.
Do not use solvents that are harmful to plastic, such as acetone.
Use eye, respiratory and/or skin protection appropriate to the cleaning solution and the possible contaminants on the Tag.
